## Introduction Maternal and child health remain core priorities for Nigeria's health system. This analysis reviews evidence-based primary healthcare strategies that improve outcomes for mothers and children, especially in underserved regions. ## Service Delivery Challenges Key issues include human resource shortages, facility distribution gaps, and inconsistent quality of care. The journal examines how local PHC boards, community health workers, and partnership models can address these challenges. ## Recommended Actions - Expand midwifery-led services at the PHC level - Strengthen referral networks between primary and secondary care - Invest in community health worker training and supervision - Ensure essential medicines and maternal nutrition support are consistently available ## Conclusion A renewed focus on PHC implementation and governance will accelerate progress toward improved maternal and child health in Nigeria.
